The orphanage has been growing steadily in planned stages with support from the local Social Security Department, churches and many kind-hearted individuals around the world.

- in January 1995 the original land to build the orphanage was acquired

- in August 1997 a 6-foot high wall surrounding the complex was completed

- in September 1998 the first two buildings to house 40 orphans were built.

- we are raising funds now for the construction of 3 additional buildings

- if we achieve this objective we can house up to 100 orphans

The orphanage opened officially in April 1999, just after the construction of the Main dormitory and the Administration block, and three small boys came in. We gave them a lovely meal and they scoffed it down quickly, because they thought it was their last.

We then asked them if they would like to stay and make the orphanage their home they just couldn't believe that there would be more meals - and every day! We have now built a boys house, and the Main house now belongs to the girls.

Some of our children are HIV positive and some have full blown AIDS . . one 13 year old girl suffers the most. Whatever she suffers with, from a headache to ear-ache, the AIDS problem makes it ten times worse. But while ever the children are receiving good food, they stand a good chance of living longer and being able to walk to school each day.

At July 2008 there are 64 children housed at the orphanage, including twin girls of four months old.

The orphanage houses and cares for children ranging in age from 4 monthsto 17 years.

Let us take care of the children, for they have a long way to go.

Let us take care of the elders, for they have come a long way.

Let us take care of those in between, for they are doing the work.

Traditional African prayer

Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

Matthew 18:5
